Polypropylene (PP) & Recycled PP Granules

What we supply

PP homopolymer granules — the workhorse of the polyolefin family. We quote injection moulding grades across the full melt flow index range, from standard MFI 10–25 up to high-flow grades around MFI 40–70 for thin-wall packaging, and raffia grades at low MFI (typically 2–4) for tape extrusion, FIBC fabric and woven bags. Low-MFI homopolymer also covers thermoforming sheet and BOPP film lines.

PP copolymersblock copolymer where impact strength matters, including cold-temperature service, and random copolymer where clarity and gloss matter. MFI selection follows the same logic as homopolymer: match the flow to your wall thickness and cycle time, and we do the grade matching for you.

Recycled PP (rPP) — regranulates from audited European recyclers:

  • rPP regranulate PCR — post-consumer streams, filtered and repelletised, for parts with recycled-content targets.
  • rPP regranulate PIR — post-industrial offcuts and start-up scrap, close to virgin in consistency and colour.

For automotive and technical work, talc- and glass-filled PP compounds are sourced on request. Every offer comes with the technical datasheet; samples and certificates of analysis are available before the first truck leaves.

PP & rPP — common questions

PP homopolymer or copolymer — which do I need?

Homopolymer is stiffer and cheaper, with good heat resistance — the default for raffia, caps, housewares and general injection work. Copolymers contain ethylene, which trades some stiffness for impact strength, especially at low temperatures. If your part gets dropped, stacked cold or transported in winter, look at a copolymer.

What's the difference between random and block copolymer?

Random copolymer distributes ethylene along the chain, giving high clarity and gloss — used for transparent containers, closures and medical parts. Block (impact) copolymer contains discrete rubber phases, giving much higher impact strength at the cost of transparency — used for crates, pails, battery cases and automotive parts.

Which MFI should I choose for thin-wall injection moulding?

Thin-wall packaging typically runs high-flow grades, MFI around 40–70 g/10 min (230 °C / 2.16 kg), so the melt fills long flow paths before freezing. Standard injection parts run comfortably at MFI 10–25. Send us your wall thickness and cycle-time target and we'll quote a matching grade.

What's the difference between PCR and PIR rPP, and when does each fit?

PCR (post-consumer recyclate) comes from used packaging and household waste streams; it counts towards recycled-content targets but varies more in colour and odour. PIR (post-industrial recyclate) comes from production offcuts and start-up scrap; it's cleaner and more consistent, close to virgin behaviour. Use PCR when the recycled-content claim matters, PIR when tight processing consistency matters most.

What is the minimum order quantity, and can I get samples?

We typically trade full truck loads of about 22–24 tonnes, though smaller lots are possible for some materials. Every offer includes the technical datasheet, and samples and certificates of analysis are available on request before you commit to a full load.
